Boulders in the works!

these are made from a can of expanding foam! WHAT A MESS, but I think they came out okay. Once the foam has dried...I used a utility knife to damage the foam. Once satisfied with the damage...I used a black paint/water/wood glue mixture to black wash them. The surface is somewhat smooth, and just af...

Re: 28mm Hay Stacks

for 15mm stacks...use a shorter length of rope fiber. I could have cut these a bit shorter, but you'll get board cutting the fiber.

Re: 28mm Hay Stacks

okay... here's a completed one, and I really like the way this turned out. Once I mix in the glue/water mixture...I'll saturate the rope fibers as mentioned until there's just enough glue on them. I placed the rope fibers into the dixie cup for 5 minutes..just enough to form it, and removed the hay ...

Use what you have to test this out; however, you may not want to use a cotton fiber rope. step 2- cut the rop...

Re: Sismis's terrain on the budget

take some fiber rope and cut into short lengths. Take a pudding cup(empty and cleaned), and line the pudding cup with the rope fiber. The fiber should be mixed with a wood glue, and water mix...about 80/20. once you line the pudding cup, use a poly fil for the center, then add the remaining rope fib...

Re: Sismis's terrain on the budget

you can use a pigment to highlight a burned out area...trim some openings in random places for hot spots, trim the corners and black pigment for a burned out area, but don't actually use a match to them in a control burn. it will smell for weeks. ahhhh...I have NO experience with that last idea!!! :)
