Army Builds and Set-up

First, you must choose which scenario or battle you will be fighting. If you choose a preset scenario there will be few decisions to be made, just follow the scenario. If you choose to create your own match then read-on and the ballance of this section will explain how to set up a basic match. Second, Decide nations, points totals, any special rules, unit proxies, restrictions and objectives or victory points.

Choose a scenario - You can choose a scenario ready made or build your own based on what you wish. If you choose to build your own scenario consider points like:
Quote:
Year Restrictions
Recreating Specific Battles
Historical units in that Theater of Ops
Location
Objective

For ready-to-play scenarios follow the links to either site linked below for lots of scenario options.

Decide nations - Decide nations that each player will be playing. Agree to which nations may be built alongside the Regular army. For Instance Germany can play with Romania on the Eastern Front. Use the dice or a coin to decide who plays what. For example we roll two dice each and the high roll plays Axis and the low roll always plays Allies.

Points totals - Decide on how many points you will be playing. This may depend on a players experience or available time. The lower the points, the quicker and less complicated the game will usually be. The standard game is 100 points but can be much much higher, well over a 1000.

Special rules - Decide if you will be using standard rules or player modified rules. Agree on the rules and ensure everyone is clear before you begin.

Unit Proxies - Decide if a particular nation may proxy units from other friendly nations, a good example would be the Germans/Romanians/Italians. There is a suggested list of nations that are allowed to play together. Here's a link to a good player compiled list: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=279

Restrictions - Decide how many specials will be allowed per 100pts of builds. Decide if there will be any year restrictions for building armies. You may specify % of you builds that go toward Vehicles, Artillery and Soldiers.

Objectives - Clearly identify objectives and/or victory points before building your armies and agree on the point of the engagement.
