Hey Scub, I have something for you to authenticate. Have a look at post # 24 after you follow the link I posted below. Are these WWII Norwegians and is the palm like plant in the background native to Norway.

Did Norway have any protectorates around the equator ?

Not that I know of,
but we have certainly not palm trees in Norway. And the only thing on the picture that resembles a Norwegian back in does days must be the dog. :D

I cant tell, but was Camo uniforms so good made? It might be French Legion, wild guess, and many Norwegian joind them

Actually that pic is 2 Portuguese Soldiers during the Portuguese colonial war... (according to THIS page: http://military.wikia.com/wiki/Madsen_Machine_Gun" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
