Feel free to play one (or more) of the above battles and report the results (especially losses - retreated units) to me.

Either play a standard AAM game (objective) or a 10 round battle (standard game, enhanced rules as you like).

If at any time in the battle above only one side has pieces remaining on board the battle is also over.

One additional rule is that units can retreat (leave the map on their side)

All incoming battle reports will be "averaged".

Take your time - I expect to do a weekly turn about every 10-20 days.

So the campaign might last the next 12 years :D

As the German army pushed towards Warsaw the Polish high command tried to stabilise the lines, at the Polish village of Glodno the poles took up defensive positions with orders to hold for at least 24hrs!

as dawn broke the Polish garrison could hear the Germans approaching, halftracks loaded with infantry were racing towards their positions, Polish antitank guns tracked their targets and the infantry readied their weapons, cavalry raced to pre-arranged positions on each flank ready to slaughter the invaders as they jumped from the halftracks, suddenly accurate artillery fire smashed into the guns destroying them before they had even fired a shot! the cavalry that had ridden so confidently through the woods came charging back, German halftracks spitting death after them.
The Polish commander knew that without his guns he couldn't hope to hold his position and so ordered a general retreat, even with this prompt action his command took heavy losses but at least they did get some men back!

THE BUTCHERS BILL

Poland losses;
1xPolish Mauser Kar 98
2x Determined Infantrymen
4x Cavalrymen
3x Wz.36 37mm ATG

German losses;
1x Mauser Kar 98k
1x Sd Kfz 251

The German advance was hardly delayed at all as the Wehrmacht race on towards Warsaw!

The political side of the war:

Immediately after the German attack on Poland France and the UK declared war on Germany.

After first reports from the battlefield came in it seemed that the German troops performed beyond all expectations. The attack from East Prussia seems to have shattered all Polish resistance in Warsaw. HG Ostpreussen asked BErlin for permission to turn East to secure Eastern Poland (which was NOT attacked in the firts attack). The Generals doknow nothing of the Molotov Ribbentrop pact, so they are surprised to receive a stop and hold order. IF the French and Bruitish had not declared war the German goverment would have voided the M-R Pact by taking also the land promised to the Soviets.

The Kriegsmarine receives orders to prepare submarine and raider warfare. The Graf Spee is in the South Atlantic and a Submarine group prowls around England, so the Seekriegsleiting is confident to get a surprise strike against british commerce raiding.

The OKW asked all field commanders for updated reports on the priogress of the campaign.
