Zvezda Panthers, King Tiger, KV1&2, T34-85..

Unread post by sismis » Tue Jan 17, 2017 10:59 pm

I've come a long way... my first picture years ago was showing barbed wire made of straw, and using painted jeeps for proxies

But slowly things have improved, and during last holidays I decided to remake those wire and some fences.
Along with it I ordered few tanks as out of heavy tanks I had only 3.. as in total of all armies combined .

As usual I make stuff worn out too much, but hey, every we get better! KV2 actually had beauty treatment, in first round I made it rusted washed green. Great looking, but as if it were left forgotten for a few decades.
Tanks actually look better in picture than in reality

Nice addition to the tank forces. I have noticed that with all the new techniques and materials out there, it is pretty easy to make a vehicle look like it has been sitting in a scrapyard for awhile. I think moderation is a good thing in this case and you captured the wear and tear of a vehicle in combat without going overboard.

Thnx! Buildings and scenery is made sturdy as storage place is tight, so there are not many small extruding tidbits - everything can be bundled in a box. That was the reason for so few tanks, A&A originals are way too expensive and others..fragile :D

Looks great!

Very nice overall look - I have to get me a couple of those King Tigers.

And I really like the camo designs - particularly the Panthers. Has a foliage look - very nice!!

Thanx!

It's similar to Poland summer '44 schemes. Those hand painted dots on official camo are way to ugly and artificial, so I went this way. I hope at least two tank commanders thought the same :D

King Tiger miniature is absolutely stunning. It has no gaping holes problem similar to Panther and KVs which Zvezda usually has. I was on the verge to order it, and it ended as best model so far.
