Location: OK, Its late july and summer is over in Canada....it was 3 days this year!
This with the new Photoshop? It seems to have more 3d rendering options. So you have barren, hills, Oasis and towns? Looks good only the base sand should be a little more brown, IMO.

VERY NICE!

I am less concerned about the sand color. It conveys the feel very well.

I would however tone down the color of the hex sides, and put in center dots.

Yes, the new PS is da bomb! So intuitive, and yet so "creatingy"... and it can do 3D, although this is just using a beveled texture. :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
The map has Barren to the Left, hills to the middle left, town and oasis in the center, and some sand dunes to the right. It's 3" size (10x7 hexes).
I do see that the sand is to white, I'll darken/add some reddishness to it.

Thanks, it's my first 100% custom map, but I'm pleased with it as a start...
I do see now that I made a bit to much shadow on the mountains as well. I'll change the opacity of the hexgrid, and add center dots on the next ones.

Thanks for the comments!

Can anyone supply me with a 18hex x 27hex map in jpeg, tif or pdf? I can import these in my takeoff software so I dont waste too many trees!

It can be white or green. I just need a blank canvas to design scenarios and games.

Best I've found was 8 x 12 online.

This help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you just looking for a hex grid? I have a simple program that allows you to make any configuration you want, including orientation, color, center markers, and hex numbers. It is on my computer at work...I will post to my site tomorrow.

Thanks Rebel! Yes I'm interested!

Joe That would be awesome. I'd love to have that grid so I can sketch scenarios.

I wish I was that smart. Not my program, I just downloaded it and really liked it so I started talking it up.

Link here http://home.comcast.net/~joebunda90/site/?/page/AAM_GIMP_Images/

And the location I got it from...now with Version 3.4 http://cryhavocgames.net/Tutorials_Utilities.htm

I have not tried 3.4. I just downloaded it a few min ago and will try it out. If it is better I will replace the file on my site.

Ok, so V3.4 appears to only have added an option for background color for hex numbers.
