Stalingrad 1943 with custom map and terrain

Unread post by Locozugmeister » Thu Jul 03, 2014 3:33 am

:bowty: Here's a few pictures from the first playtest of a Stalingrad scenario based on the 10m rules from Historic Battle Fronts. This is the 3" map that Carrion made and then printed by Stalker6 that we first saw at Maizecon. The Factory building is a custom piece made by Dano and the other buildings are from Proxy Models painted by Dano. A big "Thank you" to all you guys for making this scenario possable. I have a custom card in mind for the Factory Workers which are represented by the French Commanders and I'm trying out the Factory Fresh T-34s.

@ Dano - I still have some open areas that need filled so, I'll be ordering more buildings from Proxy Models soon and will need your services again.

As the defender I've already set up. KennyJ will be here soon and I'll take a few more pics as we play and post them later.

The terrain looks really good. Looks like it'll be a fun scenario.

:bowty: A few more pics from the first playtest.

The German Snipers and Spotters made good use of the second story windows.

The Russians managed to hold the Germans for a short time in the town sector.
100_3393.JPG
A lone Russian DP-27 held a few Germans on the flank but, the unavoidable finally came.
100_3395.JPG
The Germans finally brought up some armored support.
100_3400.JPG
The Russian Factory workers put all their efforts into getting one tank out into the fight but, as it emerged from the factory a German Panzerfaust was waiting. The stuG III made a shot that damaged and the Faust finished it off.

I have to get some more buildings to fill out the map and then we'll have a good play test.. I hope we all get a chance to play this together some day. Maybe find a way to combine yours with this one.

I.m working on woodstacks, woodpiles, crates, and pallets for building / street fillers. I should have the crates this week.

:bowty: That sounds awsome Dano. Maybe some rubble piles to go along with the building sections to fill open sides and give a more enclosed feel to the buildings if that's possable.

:bowty: Well, thanks to dano's efforts we are play testing another round of the Stalingrad scenario tonight. Here's a few pic of the game so far with more of the buildings Dano has put so much effort into. I can never tell you "Thank you" enough for your tallents Dano. These buildings are the best.
